Portable Water Shortages on Households in Bomaka in the Buea Municipality, South West Region of Cameroon: Challenges and Coping Strategies

Today, in most urban areas Sub-Saharan Africa, dwellers are facing difficulties adequately accessing potable water sufficient quantity and quality for their daily needs uses. Analogously, there have been fledgling challenges triggered by portable Shortage Bomaka. This study aims to assess the problem of accessibility Bomaka Buea Municipality coping strategies developed meet needs. The used exploratory, inferential descriptive research approaches. In this light, cross-sectional design was adopted address overall problem. A preliminary reconnaissance survey accomplished whereby questionnaire interview guides were administered. total 200 households selected investigated based on purposive systematic random sampling, particularly around points. Secondary information sought from published unpublished materials. Results reveal that 100% sourced alternative sources (boreholes, wells, streams springs) without any pre-treatment. Most these do not flow regularly because siltation or a drop volume flow, especially dry season.
